Design with intention. Perform with impact.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and experience working within a $500M+ luxury vacation rental portfolio, Mathilda brings together two worlds that are often treated separately: interior design and hospitality strategy.

She understands that a successful vacation rental needs to do more than look beautiful. It needs to photograph beautifully, feel memorable when guests arrive, function effortlessly throughout their stay, and ultimately give travelers a reason to choose it over the competition.

At Gemini Interiors, every design decision is made with the guest experience in mind - from the layout and furniture selection to the textures, lighting, artwork, and finishing touches that make a property feel distinctive.

But beautiful design should also be thoughtful design. Gemini approaches each project through a lens of sustainability, low-tox materials, and biophilic design, with an emphasis on natural elements, intentional sourcing, and pieces designed to last. The goal isn't simply to create a beautiful property, but to create spaces that feel connected to their surroundings and considered in their impact.

And because design can extend beyond the spaces we create, 1% of Gemini Interiors' revenue is given back to charitable causes, supporting a more thoughtful future for people and the planet.

Thoughtful spaces. Memorable stays. Meaningful impact.

The Gemini Approach

01 — Understand the Property

Every property has a story. We begin by understanding the home's architecture, location, target guest, existing furnishings, and opportunities for improvement.

02 — Design with the Guest in Mind

We create a cohesive design direction that reflects the destination while considering comfort, functionality, durability, and the details guests remember.

03 — Curate the Details

Furniture, textiles, lighting, artwork, accessories, and styling are carefully selected to create a layered, elevated experience without unnecessary spending.

04 — Create a Property That Performs

The final space is designed not only to be beautiful, but to photograph well, differentiate the property, and create an experience guests want to return to.

A little more about Mathilda

Born in Sweden and raised between Scandinavian design traditions and Southern California, Mathilda developed an appreciation for art, fashion, and interiors from an early age. Her Scandinavian roots, love of travel, and connection to nature continue to influence her approach to design—favoring thoughtful materials, natural elements, and spaces that feel both collected and intentional.

After moving to San Diego in 2014, Mathilda pursued her passion for design at Design Institute of San Diego, graduating in 2020 with a BFA in Interior Design. Her education established a strong foundation in space planning, FF&E selection, construction documentation, visualization, and material selection.

She then moved into luxury hospitality, spending three years with iTrip Aspen Snowmass working across guest experience, property operations, marketing, homeowner relationships, and interior upgrades.

That experience gave her a unique view of the vacation rental industry from both sides of the booking. She saw what guests responded to, what homeowners invested in, and how strategic improvements to a property could influence its marketability and revenue potential.

Gemini Interiors was created from that intersection of design and hospitality.

Today, Mathilda brings that perspective to vacation rental owners who want their properties to feel elevated, memorable, and uniquely their own—while remaining thoughtful, strategic investments. Her work is guided by a belief that good design should not only perform well, but also feel good to live in and be mindful of its impact on people and place.
